Isabelle M.
I tried to emulate this photo by mimicking the scenery that Isabelle photographed. I tried to capture the sun in between the trees like her, and get a wide variety of tree trunks in the photo as well. However, due to the fact that it is cloudier when I took my picture, the colors are not as bright. I learned that taking pictures at a certain time of day can significantly effect the brightness of your photo.

David lachapelle -Jewel
In this photo I tried to use the lighting in the same way that Lachapelle did. I tried to emulate the shadows and contours on Jewels face in my models face as well. Additionally, I tried to capture the same movement in Jewel's hair as in my models hair. I learned that lighting can be very tricky and its hard to get it just right especially on a person's face. Next time, hopefully I will have better lighting to work with.

In this photo I tried to emulate the angular positions of the models bodies. Additionally I tried to take the picture in a brightly lit room so that it would be as bright as the original. I learned that the white balance could have been of better quality for this photo.

Roy DeCarava
In this photo I tried to emulate the same body position in my model as in the original model. Obviously the photo that I took has not been edited, however I think that my photo captures a similar affect. I tried to make the focus of the image on the model and not the background, like the original. I learned that when focusing on a specific image within the photo, it can significantly enhance the overall depiction.

In this photo I tried to emulate similar facial expressions in the models. Also I tried to demonstrate the same emotion on the model's faces. I learned that it can be particularly difficult in trying to capture the perfect amount of lighting. I used artificial lighting in my photo, while I'm sure there was more natural lighting in the original photo.

In this photo I tried to emulate the same emotion in my picture. I liked the way that the two models were clearly depicted with little fuzziness or blur. In my photo I would have liked the lighting to be better, and maybe next time I will adjust the ISO to a higher level. I learned that while using artificial light I should adjust the ISO to higher levels.
